Ok, so here’s the deal! I did not attend a HBCU (Historically Black College & University) – mainly because my granny was very over protective and figured staying in Mobile would keep me ‘safe’. ππ
Nonetheless, I have wonderful family and friends that attended HBCUs so technically I attended them as well. π
Did you know the reason why HBCUs are so important?! Well it’s because back in the day so many blacks were refused admittance into many universities and colleges. HBCUs were created to provide blacks with stellar education & skills without being subjected to discrimination, but one that reminded us that we deserve the best education and that we should not let anything stop us from getting just that.
I asked a few of my family and friends why attending an HBCU was important; if not all, most of them stated to continue a LEGACY. βπΎ
Although I graduated from a PWI (Predominantly White Institution), I’m confident in knowing this black chic is educated with everlasting knowledge that no man can take away! βπΎ
